Cacao (Theobroma cacao) is native from Amazon and its fruit is bitter and lightly spicy. It was used by the Mayas and Aztecs in spiritual ceremony and considered the Gods’ food. The Aztecs believed that Quatzalcautl (God of life, light and wisdom) got its universal knowledge because of the regular use of this sacred plant.
It is said to bring back the inner child and therefore is an aroma that brings a happy feeling to our hearts. Not a coincidence that we have the desire to eat chocolate when we feel sad and down.
It can be used when someone need to enjoy the present life with happiness and pleasure and let it go of inflexible behavior. The relaxing effect of the cacao helps people with obsession regarding food intake as well.
Cacao is an extremely rich plant, containing sulfur, copper, magnesium, calcium, iron, cobalt, boron, B vitamins and a high amount of protein. Within the many benefits of this fruit, it is a natural mood stabilizer of serotonin. Helping to alleviate symptoms of depression and anxiety, regulating our vital energy.
The theobromine found in the cacao dilatate the blood vessels and therefore helps with blood circulation increasing the energy in our body. The energy created is also one of the reasons that cacao is used as an aphrodisiac. As curiosity, the consume of cacao was for some time prohibit by clergies when it was brought to Europe in order to avoid sexual desires.
